I do like that I skipped all of the interum DLC and just played final state issac

so I have no idea what awful things I missed

I did do old lost, that was such a skill issue character

When I want an actual challenge I play tainted lost now usually

Regular lost is actually not a bad character IMO

Tainted is unironically a good character if you are not dogshit

Regular lost is honestly pretty top tier in terms of how good he is because of the mantle

I've bought 0 of the DLC for Issac but started playing recently, feels bad without mods tbh

Other than the item description mod, you really do not need mods to enjoy issac

Base rebirth is pretty basic

item description just replaces looking at the wiki

But I still think it's fine

I vaguely know what eveything does, but even still, I like it just telling me

I have base Rebirth, but having to second monitor the wiki for most of the items is a pain still. I'm sure after awhile it'll be fine

I've been playing Isaac since I was singular digit age

I do not know exact stat boosts each item gives, I just know what stats the affect

This shit is buried in my neurons

Polar just get external item descriptions

The best item is the clown hat because it gives +0.1 damage

The only other ones I have are boss rush countdown because I forget what round I am on otherwise, and one that makes lucky penies more noticable because I am blind

oh and planetarium chance for the extra hud

I played with 0 mods

which should just be a default thing

But if you're new to the game I think item description mod is alright

I do think part of the fun is picking up something and being like "oh..." though

Issac is cryptic as shit for what some of its things do

especially trinkets

I do not know what a few of the trinkets do still

Even some from original Isaac I'm not 100% sure of

(They changed their effects)

Also I will never memorize the spindown item pool

I know a few

Toothpicks into sacred heart

Blue map into 20/20

I know a few of the important ones like that and blood bag into brim

Bloodbag into brimstone

Those are the ones I know

I know the planterium items all spindown into eachother

Oh and lazarus rags into godhead

Spindown just goes to the next item in number order right

Makes sense all the planetarium would be grouped

so in general, if you know what item is what release, you can also know what pool it will spindown into

so the DLCs are grouped

Its a shame multiplayer was a bit too laggy for us

Anyways Polar, if you are liking issac, I'd recommend the DLC

its worth it, it basically just triples the amount of things that can happen in a given run

Isaac DLC is def worth it
