store.steampowered.comim only probably 45%~ through it but;
really really good srpg by the gfl devs, remake of their first doujin game
it was suppoused to come out like 3 years ago but it only came out this year and i forgot about it. its also funny because you can see all the GFL2 mechanics they ripped from this, including 1:1 debuffs buffs and stats for some stuff
its definitely not for most people though the stealth missions are like puzzles with 1-3~ solutions and I think most people will probably hate that quite a bit
its also really unique in that not like xcom/fe with permadeath but more just a story game with mission clears, but its mecahnics are pretty unique and I can't think of another SRPG that does it like this. instead of army v army, its your 2-4 units vs 15-150+ units with reinforcements every few rounds, and your units arent any stronger, often theyre weaker, so you setup tripwires, throw teargas, hide turrets, duck in and out of stealth in the trees to pick off hundreds of enemies. the first srpg I've played to nail guerilla warefare perfectly.
Reverse Collapse looked good, mostly because there's not been many FireEmblem games outside of really rough indies made in SRPG maker
I'm sketchy on whether I'd like the small group vs huge army

because it's a GPU post-processing effect that applies first, before more intensive GPU post-processing effects and some CPU ones
AA is the literal first, followed by DoF and motion blur, then all the color and light ones
shadows, SSAO, and fog etc. get applied last
it makes shadows much easier on your GPU
tbh, shadows are like 90% of the intensive processing, ignoring stuff like path tracing
Replying to Spooky Phijkchu #spooky.131 tbh, shadows are like 90% of the intensive processing, ignoring stuff like path tracing
at this point every game i just run ultra everything shadows high
Indiana Jones is weird Max, I've never seen better shadow maps
but then with full path tracing, it all goes to shit
yup
I feel like shadows are also barely impactful
bad volumetric fog is the worst performance drain
but even slightly high-rez shadows are just not worth it
people have forgotten that completely
forced perspective and shadows is 100000x better
than "realistic" lighting
I feel like Witcher 4 is going to be the game a lot of people realize that on
since it's moving off the Red Engine and is instead UE5 slop
W3 had such great lighting, everything was fire-lit and the sun cast these really warm scenes when it rose/set
moonlight was cool
there's just no way that's going to work with modern raytracing
Replying to legorhin #jazardly I guess shadows is closest ambient occlusion here
it's strange that you've had performance issues in games recently, that game doesn't strike me as one that looks super demanding

twitter.comthe weirdest part to me is they changed her VA in all languages
if it was just the ENG one, they could cope and say it's because the current VA is "too old" or w/e
