people are coming around to what we've been saying for years
devs think that the solution to the problem of bad engines is just using a known engine
but in reality bad engines isnt the issue, its devs not knowing their engine
if you have a very good dev that knows their engine front and back and what to use to make something run good, wow itll run good
the gaming industry is in a cycle of pump and dumping devs and people that work on games instead of tight knit teams
The two gachas that hit Steam this month have been getting pushed a ton
mostly for Heavens Burn Red, a little for Ash Echoes
It's weird seeing lower-budget gachas make a run at things now
I feel like if you're not a Mihoyo-tier juggernaut, it's hard to find an audience
a few years ago, when you just have to have better character designs to sell JPGs
you can be Arknights, hire Neco to do your art, and phone in the game part
Will be interesting to see what happens as Genshin eventually winds down and there's more space for new games

i tried heaven burns red. i liked the voice acting and the music in it but the gameplay really sucks and i'm not gonna spend months playing a game that isnt fun to play, even if everything else about it was decent. which kinda sucks but it is what it is
