The MH beta demo thing hit 500k players, when it dropped at 11PM EST
It's actually a lot more of the game than I thought it would be
it's character creation + the entire desert biome thing
And has a bunch of T1-T3 quests

Unity is such a shitty company
his company has ~50 devs, if they all wanted to use Unity that would cost $0 + whatever premium addons they purchase
except, they're "professional" so they're required to spend $100k ($2k/person/year) on licenses that add nothing, and if they don't Unity might just rugpull your always online IDE
and this year, because Unity is cancer, they are auditing the profitability of your game studio, and if they think you're too profitable they will arbitrarily decide to up your required costs up to $1M/year for your studio (deduct license costs from that)
I think Unity has their actuaries determine how much a studio is likely to pay, and not just immediately switch engines out of spite
so for Gaary that was $500k
The Minecraft thing they've got is SUPER cool
It's not a game, but the fact it was made with just video input is crazy
I like how if you mine down you never enter into an actual cave but just keep dropping onto the ground
And if you look up and down you basically randomize the world
It really is basically dream minecraft
I think a funny way to turn this into an actual "game" is to somehow make the inventory tracked manually not as a part of the AI stuff
so you can build up an inventory of stuff by walking through the random dream minecraft
I don't know how you'd do that though
I am annoyed with AI mostly because of the mindshattering number and quality of AI discussion i hear from all the indians at university
And the fact that my project members are dependent on it apparently
Well AI gave us dan though so
People using AI for assignments is insane, I imagine its really bad everywhere that is not math heavy
math is kinda safe because the AI students use is shit at it
there is specially made math ai for solving DEs and doing proofs, but thats not chatgpt
Pika my project partners for this one course I am in are something else
One of them just casually pastes project ideas from chatgpt in our project idea meeting
Another one says "here is a list of suggested features from chatgpt" when we are talking about it more later

We settled on a basic kanban task board manager
But it doesn't seem like any of them have any ideas at all of how to do anything or start work on anything or design anything
Just report them to the professor or to the dean of curriculum. They will protect you if you go to them and share what is going on. If you don’t and they find out that half your project is AI; very good chance you will be lumped in with them. Better to do the project solo or moved into another team. Will peers distrust you? Absolutely, but better that the honest people know you are honest than putting your trust in dishonest people you randomly get paired with. Had the same problem in one of my classes but it was just that the one member did absolutely nothing for the project, but expected to be credited with the work. Group said no thanks see you later and good luck retaking the class.
CS is probably the most likely stem field to use AI to cheat
since they already do that with stack echange anyways
I also use stack exchange (math one though), but I can't cheat witht that, I have to understand what the hell the answers say to do since often the answers are not valid for how I am supposed to be doing things
I think math is where it wraps around from using AI to cheat to just using AI
since a lot of control theory is AI driven now
well "now", its been that way for 20 years

When I was doing my masters, I passively learned a lot about machine learning despite not doing anything computational at all, since 1/3 seminars my group did was on it
Google finally rolled out giving me the stupid AI answers at the top of my searches
