the switch to UE has been known for months, but the name change is probably good PR. I remember the rumor that the engine cost 500 million for them to upgrade from BLAM so them abandoning it in less that 5 years is pretty funny.

You can save a lotta money by buying it not on steam
I got the ultimate edition for less than the steam store has the deluxe edition for
you've always been able to save 10-15% by buying Steam keys from reseller sites, I've used Fanatical from time-to-time for that
the only drawback is you lose your refund ability (and key delivery sometimes can take 1-2 hours), but if you're set on pre-ordering super ultimate editions of these games it's 100% worth it
Yeah fanatical is great for saving money
I don't buy that many full-price games, but for the super collector ultimate editions it's usually worth bothering
I paid around 90 for the 110 ultimate edition
it is funny how $60 games selling for $90 is now a "deal"

they're doing another "remake" of the 1st game
no word on which routes are in this one
from Twitter, this is going to be the Bachelor route at a minimum
I think making each route its own game is fine, and I don't even hate numbering them since there is an order to them
but it's definitely because it would sell better this way

Hypetrain (who's publishing 3) is a slop brand
but they're more hands off
I'd appreciate if he had some sort of release cadence now, with a new publisher 18-24 months between routes would make me happy
and then figure out how to bundle/market Pathologic 2-5 together in some way
There was a small indie time-loop game I played yesterday that was decent, but frustrating

It's made by Sokopop, who do game jam style development for all their stuff
this was definitely one of their bigger projects, and a lot of it is fun
my issue is that it's a time-loop game without progress between loops (because it's already fairly small)
it's a 5* concept, executed really well, but Sokopop only makes small games so it's a tiny version of a great idea for a big game
I love Majora's Mask, Pathologic style loops, with NPC routes/schedules and everything
Grunn is definitely inspired by that, but you can beat the game in <2 hours without trying to rush

unirronically, if Outher Wilds didn't deliver all of its story via visual novel time-pause reading sections
It would be one of my top 10 games
it's a neat af sandbox, with amazing game mechanics
that has a mediocre story slapped on it in the most boring, way possible, with a reddit-tier ending
