that era of stupid kid games were the best
and it was such a short era
I feel like you had to be born within a <5 year window to really see them
The Learning Company unironically made the best kids games
they paid actual developers to make real games, without trying to fish for gay government grants or prove their games had "educational merit"
all of their designs were literally just average joe the game designer deciding, "this is how I would want to teach my kids something"
and they sold to schools, sold to libraries, sold to cereal companies, sold to AOL, sold to every kids/toy store
but then they went through a half-dozen corporate acquisitions and just completely died ~2005
