also for refernece before i emailed him i did deep diving and this guy went from doing patent protection legal work for nintendo in 2006-2011, doing stuff like ensuring no one else can infringe on their patent of a board (wii fit) that can measure ones posture

Hasn't Yasuke always been a debated historical thing? Retards could have easily made an AC about an American slave, but whatever.

Ubisoft also stole a Flag from the Sekigahara rifle corp. and though they have now said they are removing it from the game, it is still in the artbook

So maybe someone saw that and assumed that the next logical step was that he become a samurai
The issue actually really stems from the fact retards often use knight and samurai as liberal translations. In western culture knight is ambiguous because overtime it changed and has meant many things, from knights only being nobility and land bearing soldiers to being the elite vassals of a lord, but more often than not knights ended up as merely just soldiers. In japan that's completely different as samurai were ONLY elites, samurai was the equialent of a title. it's quite literally IMPOSSIBLE for him to have been a "samurai" but western culture calls ANY noble guy with armor and sword a samurai, when thats never the case

personally I think its insane to suggest he became a samurai
There's a lot of replies blow this, but I'm not reading all that. Thanks for the lore

The west proves time and time again that they know nothing of Japanese or eastern cultures

i mean even my description doesnt get all the intracasies, people (westerners) argue over whether or not he was a samurai because well ermm technically he was given a sword and some cash from nobunaga... therefore hed be the elite personal force of nobunaga ERGO SAMURAI!!!
taxes games
but thats a heavy HEAVY simplification of how it was viewed at the time, because sure you can go back and view the past with that lens, and often even in japan theres some people who most likely werent viewed technically as samurai by their peers at the time but in history are regarded as so
taxes games
the consensus from actually sane normal people is that no, he was not a samurai even though he was treated well by nobunaga, the peers of nobunaga and his actual close and trusted soldiers would not of considered yasuke a samurai either
taxes games
redditors and autists latch onto the fact that nobunaga treated him well however, and proclaim that as the sticking point for why he should be considered one
