forcing any swap is dumb, but locking out "similar" heroes
is assinine
people get motivated to play more because they pick their favourite character and play with them
If tf2 made me stop playing huntsman sniper after a round, I would probably not have played 1000 hours of tf2
"oh you won a game as Pyro, sorry Scout/soldier are locked now too)
See Dialga, I think there's a charm to that almost
Dialga, I can already think of ways to make that really fun
if the playerbase was big enough that you could reliably queue as your character
I'd be down
first, screen is black until the game loads in
second, screen opens, all the characters are on random places on the screen
you have to race to get to the one you want
3rd, you can make a higher skill cap mode where the characters are moving so clicking them is harder
it's neat because it replaces getting flamed for picking a "bad" character, just because you like them
if there's one in every game
yes, you can still underperform as a meta character, but that's already a thing
but I think it would be fun for people (the majority) who really only play one or a small handful of characters

So how does Friday at 6:30pm EST sound for AP, under the assumption that the session should (hopefully) only take 5-6 hours at most and midnight is hopefully fine on a weekend for everyone. I can do it earlier, but I might need to dissapear for 15-20 minutes to get food if we start earlier
also has everyone figured out what games they want to play. We should probably discuss what settings everyone wants to do, especially if you've not played around with the game you want to do or done AP before
Have you looked at the game list mint?
We are all playing different games
that is how AP works
So far I am locked in for paper mario 64, polu is doing sonic adventure 2 I believe, deaddog want sto do donkey kong country 3
I forget what leg said
You can play whatever you want, let me know when you are around I can help you figure stuff out
In general just try to play something you think you remember well enough to know the locations of things (most games have a tracker which means you do not need perfect knowledge)
me (and max if she ends up joining us and decides to do WW) will likely have the longest games this time around
I will leave figuring out what settings would make minecraft comparable to the other games to you
Based on the practice run we did, I did about half of paper mario in 2.5 hours
If you think minecraft would be too short, you could always make it both dragon and wither as the req
I am looking at the settings page
But leg, you actually have to go to the discord thread to read the update news (it is not pinned)
I fucking hate discord and its ramifications for the coding community
In my pinned post, I linked 3 sources
one of them is the extended list
the website is just the officially supported ones by AP
I can confirm for unofficial, paper mario 64 and mario kart 64 are easy to set up and work. Rabi-ribi and balatro are confusing to set up and not worth it
I can set up a game other than paper mario to test tonight, I think I am solid on my settings for that
I wanted to figure out what the hell manual AP is, I think its a way to manually do a game since it has a wide support list of games according to the update page
but there is no guide
thats less exciting
