Paradox canceled their Sims clone
which is amazing, because Paradox never cancels shit
I think they knew if they pushed out another early access game (this was supposed to launch in EA this Summer/Fall) they were going to damage their brand
it was being made by the lead Sims 2/3 dev, and his little indie studio
who imo lacked the talent to make actual games
This is just unprofessional. The game was almost 2 weeks from release - with weekly videos, collabs with YouTubers, and many more blog posts - now it's cancelled with not much of a reason why, except for whatever corporate lingo the studio used. This is unprofessional and gross and I feel very disappointed in Paradox as a studio and as a company. The least they could do is give an explanation why all this is happening. I made a similar post when the game was delayed, but people were quick to immediately defend the company and even harass me. But I feel like being angry that there wasn’t much communication to begin with is fair.

Solution: Make up for talent with passion
ngl, it being 2 weeks from release changes it in my mind a bit
it's one thing to cut out 6-9 months of dev on a doomed project
but fuck, how does something get 2 weeks from release, and then canceled
if anything, I think I'd rather just allow the studio to self-publish it at that point, without the Paradox name

Idk if anyone would be interested in Crime Boss:Rockay City. The single player is an over arching territory war with missions that are like payday, only better. Multi is just the missions. Dlc is free until july 11th

While I've heard the joke that it was a hollywood money-laundering scheme, as there's lot of big actor names as the main characters, and all but one of them phoned it in. It's unironically a good game
was also an epic exclusive for just over a year, that's why there's already dlc
