Here I have broken it up into 8 quadrants, and picked what I think is the best thing from each that should win
This bracket mainly fails because the starting choices are so bad
I am not sure how they chose the starting seeded items
again, if you had a bracket that included 64 actual contenders for best game of all time, I think the results would possibly be better
most of these do not deserve to be on here
like who the fuck thinks the newest animal crossing is the best game of all time
its not even the best animal crossing
(its the worst animal crossing)
minesweeper is also one where I could kind of understand it
its not as close to a perfect game as tetris (inherent flaws in the design exist)
but its simplicity makes it very good and lasting
I include the version where you can store pieces
I think that was the best mechnical update to a game in gaming history
Pong kind of wraps around to not being a top game of all time
it is more simple than tetris, but you cannot play it single player (satisfyingly)
tetris is a single player game, which makes it infinitely replayable
Replying to heir #hyrrulfr pong is so good that it's the go-to tutorial game for shitty game design courses
Pong is the easiest game in the world to make lol
I think most tutorials I see are pong, then space invaders
space invaders is also pretty great
I think space invaders allows you to learn a lot of the basics of most coding for gaming
enemies that move, how to interact with them, how to move yourself, how to make enemies attack
pong is almost too simple
Yeah, honestly the bracket fight of "games to learn videogaming coding" would be interesting
It would mostly be arcade, top down RPG games
I wonder what the best game to recreate to learn making 3D games would be
minesweeper unironically a good game to learn coding, since you have to figure out the game board logic which is important for other conditional things in gaming and game generation

I think tetris is a lot harder to code, I would put it under intermediate for simple games
