youd think with ue5 having native features for caves and culling exteriors they'd make caves seamless

but instead you walk up to black wall, hold e to enter your wow raid dungeon

and get tped into location with no discernable entrance

not even a normal entrance/instanced cave with two black boxes to connect

I've seen people playing it say along the lines of "Palworld might have started as a scam, but after all the interest in it, they either made it an actual game". And they weren't saying that negatively. It wouldn't surprise me.

And it's a fine game, not perfect (especially the multiplayer desynch issues). But it is quite enjoyable, and fills something people have been looking for

that is my perspective

i get not liking the movement, theres nothing special

the appeal is obviously the catching and automation with pals

i spent all of yesterday trying the base building and learned that the pal pathfinding is really buggy with the construction parts

Yeah they basically seem to direct line pathfind, and size or complex structures can mess them up

it seems to hate having the crafting stuff sharing Z coordinates with multiple floors

and trying to assign pals to things under 1 high ceilings is really awkward

most games seem to struggle with ai pathfinding & custom player building

i built this massive castle and cant even use half of it because they cant get to it

I assume it was the perfect time. Lethal company blew up as a good group game, but it has not updated so it is a bit stagnant, so a new game that is good for a week or so of multiplayer coming out, with having the meme premise of pokemon with guns, likely created the perfect storm

Very true, a lot of people love pokemon aswell so having a competitor to that IP always seems interesting to some people
