The first few weeks are the most important time when releasing your game. If it prevents cracks just a little longer than other DRM. I would say it works

it makes some (not all) games run slower, and some (very few tbf) people refuse to buy denuvo out of principle, so game devs have started hiding denuvo on the steam page until like hours before release
