Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild had the exact same problem where all content is front loaded. I like the traditional Zelda style with item temples.

there was no fun progression in BOTWTOTK because you get all the shit right away.

I like getting the hook shot and remembering all the cool things I can now hookshot.

the progression was not like the other games in that you get something and that opens new things up for the most part too

one boss fight in totk gives you infinite op weapons too
