you can force players toa uto download mods too

If they wanted to make it big, have it so only the dm has to own it

but they had a gamemaster mode in DoS2

Well the only real appeal here is it keeps track of multiple planes well

not just that

verticality

you can let your players semi explore/move without GM doing EVERYTHING, fog of war would auto update to actual vision specifications

etc.

i think the only bad thing about having larian do it is

its harder to fudge numbers as a GM

Well one of the advantages with a more primitive setup is that you're basically able to consider doing anything

that is fair

i still think if tools are expanded enough it can make up for what is lost

dos2s was realyl really powerful

and if they had to make one for D&D

being able toc hange individual monsters stats, edit health, spawn aynthing, eadd effects, set certain creatures to use AI and some creatures to not use AI and be all GM, fog of war, even larians surface system- being able to use that as a paint tool so you can oil or lava on the floor etc.

idk i feel like if they put the money and effort into it a fully fleshed out D&D client with steam workshop support could be BIG

because you'll have the autistic people that make packs for like 1934894032 sets of armor and facial features
