<3 months before launch
the whole beta in general, I kind of suspect they have 1 really good "finished" area
and that will be what they show

the game structure is really good, semi-open areas with lots of instanced zones. Map design is the #1 thing about this game
I've not looted enough stuff to get a perfect feel for how well they're doing that, but so far it's felt like what I'd want from this part of the leveling curve
lots of good QoL things, and some obvious bugs (like tooltip windows jumping around and cutscene audio desync) that I think will be fixed before launch
That said
if this skill system is really what they're launching with
I'm going to be pissed
I think it's a small subset of the overall skill tree
I really do think that's what they're doing, though I haven't gone out and verified by reading interviews or anything
but the current skill system in the beta is worse than D3 on launch, in-that it's more linear somehow
the tree thing they're doing could work, it's stolen from PoE and the setup is fine
but you end up only being able to choose 1 or 2 modifications for each major skill
and there are only maybe 25-50% more major skills overall
where as in D3, each major skill had ~5 modifications
I think, I really do
it's a "vertical slice" for the beta
it's just too linear for me to think otherwise
Bopit, are you a D2 fan?
I really dislike D2, but I know some people have a hard on for it still

I played D2 when I was young, Act 1 was fun. After that my interest in it and the fun of the gameplay dropped. Would usually stop playing in Act 2, like twice, maybe trice in Act 3, and pushed through to hell once.
reminder, it's an open beta next weekend, this weekend is just the KFC exclusive one

I have a lot of thoughts on D4
I have zero idea how this game is going to be received, or what Blizzards vision is for the game
The only thing I feel confident saying rn, is the game is massive
the game should also be F2P, this game is what I think a PC-focused "Diablo:Immoral" should have been
what do we call this genre, action-RPGs?
I think this genre as a whole just needs to accept that F2P is the only way to get new people into the game
