the three strikes slowbro in the game
and I'd play it
tbh
Also make it so old amber or whatever it is does not give the enemy a point if they KO it
literally useless
its how you get aerodactyl on the field
Oh, I do not have that lol
the useless cards are pokedex and the scope because you only get 20 cards and your deck is weak if those fit in it
Pokedex has the niche use case of checking before you use a pokeball, since using a pokeball shuffles your deck
but that is about it
scope has the niche use case of being useful if you also run red card
the problem is, both of them require multiple items to be useful
instead of just being useful
Yeah if deck sizes were 40 cards, I think those would be better
red card is funny when it happens because since there are only 15 cards in the deck after the initial draw you probably get similar stuff back
actual tcg is 60 cards
I think they should have went for half
how many energies do TCG decks tend to run?
according to google
tcg also has stuff like double/triple energies
so you get higher return per card on those
those could come in later seasons
I doubt it, since there are no energy cards
maybe you could get a thing to double an energy
I kind of almost wish they just kept energy cards in, but made it so you have a seperate energy deck/hand
so you can choose what energies to draw from each turn
Looking at some of these comp TCG decks is interesting
World champ of 2023 for TCG ran his 60 card deck as 13 mons, 7 energy, and 40 trainer cards
yeah, trainer cards are really stupid good
most decks run 30-40 trainer cards
and you really only need the minimum of pokemon since the bench exists
yea, i feel like despite the current lack of trainer cards it would be really easy to mill into your bench and evos otherwise
if we weren't limited to only 4 drawing cards I would have at least 50% trainer cards
oh i didnt know it was limited to 4
so its better to just run 40 trainers, with ones that let you just search your deck for your limited pokemon
there's only two in the game polar
you can only have 3 of one card
and there is literally only pokeball and prof oak in the game
is it not 2 per?
is it 2?
Either way
i thought it was two per
its super limited, hence why we need a huge trainer expansion
but if its only two in the game then i get it, i havent looked at many cards outside of the Pika pack
i just want a nice looking water deck and then ill quit forever
pokeball is one of the promo cards you buy in the shop
you also get one for free playing the tutorials
i was considering buying Oaks to make them shiny from shop
this has more damage output than anything in Pocket, higher health than everything in pocket, an ability, and low retreat cost to boot
Replying to legorhin #jazardly look at how absurd modern TCG is
maybe im wrong, but its weakness is x2 instead of +20, so i guess bigger numbers in base tcg
that confirms to me that I wasn't misremembering weaknesses being more interesting than +20 for everything
I think real TCG also has resistances sometimes
One mechanic I think should be changed to make more varied gameplay is energy, instead of a random one a turn, you should have a separate energy hand. At the start of the game draw it 2 energies, and then 1 when your turn begins, and you can select from one of the 3 energies in your hand to play per turn. Makes two color decks way more reliable but keeps 3+ still a bit tough to play out.
And if you could do trainer cards around it like a energy hand reshuffle to sacrifice deck space in exchange for more reliability.
Because playing two color (colorless doesn't count) is basically unplayable compared to monocolor.
I'm seeing a ton of dragon decks online
don't know how they do against decks that have EXes though
I do not understand how people can be high level in this
I think I saw a level 30 at one point
you have to win hundreds of battles for that because you get pitiful experience for only wins
They did a soft launch in new Zealand a month ahead of global launch, people you see are people who used vpns to get in early.
that's still people no-lifeing this game for a month
You can easily get a level a day from like 2 hours of battling with a quick deck, also if you spend money (which I assume a lot of people do) pack opening gives crazy amounts of XP.
I guess so
forgot about that exp source

This makes the YT videos make more sense, i thought creators just got a few weeks early access
Replying to Polar_ #polar_ Chat is this real
with a sample size of 1 it worked
its a strange gacha if there's an actual indicator
it worked twice but i got the same rare pidgeot both times
and between those i got a rare ditto from a flipped pack
might have been a flavor thing at first, but should prob abuse it now just incase..
and as to why I suddeny got a bunch of packs to pull, i realized I should just buy the limited offer hour glasses with the hundreds of currency I had
after buying those, with this lovely dripfeed system you can buy enough hourglasses for one extra pull with the "thanks" currency around once every week

i was going to tell you this but assumed you already did it
i had been buying the gold ones
the shop hourglasses are limited to 10 each
for the event chanseys that i have failed every attempt
