It's confirmed the writer is 14?
Replying to legorhin #jazardly I don't hate the overpowered main character trope if its not done lazily because it can be a variant of the skilled mentor archetype that acts as the protagonist (edited)
Overpowered main character can be done alright but I prefer if they're not. Main ways it's used not-badly is in a purely comedic sense (the fights aren't serious to begin with) or if the protagonist has good reason to hide/restrict their abilities. The protagonist having low self esteem needs to have justification for me.
no
Eminence is good
Wait, is that the one where the main character gets bullied a ton and decides to vent his frustration?
I remember an anime like that and dropped it before finishing the first ep
Guy spent his entire life wanting to be the main character of a power fantasy isekai type scenario
and plays the character when he gets it
Wait no I'm misremembering but I did drop Eminence before finishing the first episode
The main character just seemed too emo
He is playing a bit
Essentially, he is a dork trying to be edgy by what he thinks edgy is
I guess I didn't watch it enough to learn that
I thought the first episode was great
but it does not really explain the premise
If I remember the main character beats up some thugs under a bridge then monologues to a girl for like 5 minutes
You are not thinking of the same show
There is no 5 minute monologue
Guess I should try again. Thanks!
Eminence is one of those shows that has really good payoffs, but the (self-aware) cringe is even a bit high for me at times
early S2 was too much
When it comes to chuuni characters, there's a fine line between amusing and annoying. Irl I'm sure you would find someone like that annoying.
no... chuuni is peak
fuck, it turns out one of my favorite chunni animes was done by Studio Passione
how can I continue to shit on them now
which one
