literal whiplash
So, not done the episode, but I guess I want to make my fan theory speculation. so dragon guy did not know who redeus was because he was not supposed to be there, since he was reincarnated in. Him being reincarnated in chaged what was supposed to happen in the world. The dragon god guy knows everything that was supposed to happen in the world I guess

I think the interesting speculation will be how much the world "changed" by Rudy being thereas well as how much Orsted knows and why, and his relation to the Man-God (Hitogami)
MT could have become the show I was pitching in vc the other day if instead of being alive he was just born in another world again though

I liked him modifying the fireball to the point where it kinda caught the dragon guy off guard

he's weary of Rudy after that
but yeah, the big "fireball"
they did it way better than the novels
in the novels, they spend a full chapter with him testing and figuring it out ahead of time
anime, they just do it
it's paced way better
and I don't think it's confusing
yeah, I mean, it can just be infered that the testing of the fireball happened offscreen in the anime
which is fine
that does sound like bad pacing
There's a lot of monologuing in the novels, and it's well written
but it's the weakest part of the show, so I'm glad they've done almost none of it
I guess if they wanted to include it in the anime, they could have had him practising magic during one of the op montage sequences in a prior episode
tbh, I don't like when characters just have their internal voice take over
I think him thinking works when they do it
much more would be annoying
all of his spells, they spend a lot of time discussing the theory on in the novels
what exactly is happening
how he's designing them
I assume its based on physics of how things like fire work

so I can kinda guess how he is modifying it
the scope of magic doesn't really need to be pressed in the anime
because viewers are smart
and don't need the nuance of what can/can't be done explained imo
its not exactly a hard magic system to get either to be fair
it mostly is straightforward
the problem the novels had
is the magic system is actually hella complex
but the actual story, never uses 90% of it
so they explain all of this niche magic lore, which NEVER comes up
or doesn't come up until 20 books in
honestly, I feel like they should have just released a lore dump novel that just covers the entire magic system
have mana ---> cast spell --> spells have levels
that you can read if you care
is all you need
there's a lot of fighting theory too
between the Sword/Water/North fighting styles
the fighting theory stuff is kinda dripfed in the anime
which is nice
like how in season 1 when he mentioned that one style has a sword throwing technique
I'm just SOOOO glad, they don't over-explain it
if they stopped for 10 minutes after the Ghileine fight in S1
and explained her cool moves
I think show don't tell works the best for both the fighting and the magic
in an anime
