Finished season 1 of Rozen Maidens. It was alright
I quite liked it, but I feel like it's not extremely stand-out or anything. I haven't gotten around to watching Season 2 yet, mainly because I feel like Season 1 ends really nicely and I have no idea where they're going (and because I don't watch very much anime) Apparently the anime and the original manga are very different. The anime just kinda did its own thing at one point, splitting off entirely.

Alright, I have also finished S2 of Rozen Maiden. I stand by that Season 1 is better. It also has a better and more conclusive ending than Season 2.

I just feel like Jun is entirely sidelined in Season 2. Like, Season 1 is all about his character arc and it finishes in Season 1, so he's kinda just there in Season 2. I'd argue Suiseiseki is more of the main character of Season 2.

Also, I don’t know if it’s just a normal Japanese trope, but Laplace’s Demon from Rozen Maiden and The Conductor from Ni no Kuni (Dominion of the Dark Djinn only) are sorta the same character. Mysterious anthropomorphic rabbit guys who know more than they let on and have special powers while they sorta guide the protagonist in riddles in accomplish their goals.

This game is also far worse than the first game. I enjoyed it for what it’s worth, but it’s not nearly as special.

There’s a surprisingly large number of differences between Dominion and Wrath, (Dominion is a FAR better game imo).

The story just makes so much more sense in Dominion, there’s more and better locations, and the combat is a better system, though that’s more of an opinion. The only thing Wrath has going for it is the introduction of Pea, who is a great character I’ll admit.

I just feel like optimized combat in Wrath turns into, “let me just run away and spam biggest spell.” Melee combat is worthless because you lose control of your character while they mindlessly attack.
