I remember I used to think the original Spice and Wolf anime was deep for ending where it did. And how it wasn't about the destination but the journey, and there was never any guarantee that they'll get to whatchamacallit-land.
This was before I learnt about the concepts of "They ran out of material to adapt" and "they were too lazy to make a season 3"

Personally I saw Kircheis' death a mile away, because unlike some people, I watch the episode previews.
(Also I found episode 6 of the bookclub the most "Tell me you don't watch the episode previews without telling me you watch the episode previews")
People complain about spoilers in the previews, but they're no where near as bad as Yu Yu Hakusho's, but also there is 0 way of previewing episode 26 of LOGH without spoiling Siegfried's death since he dies in the first five seconds of it and the rest of the episode is everyone else reacting to said death.

I quite liked it, but I feel like it's not extremely stand-out or anything. I haven't gotten around to watching Season 2 yet, mainly because I feel like Season 1 ends really nicely and I have no idea where they're going (and because I don't watch very much anime)
Apparently the anime and the original manga are very different. The anime just kinda did its own thing at one point, splitting off entirely.
I have liked season 2 on average more than season 1 thus far
Show is at its best as a slightly goofy slice of life
The trick is, I do not count bookclubs and airing seasonals
so I do infact only 1 one non seasonal/bookclub anime at a time!
