Why did the nukitashi op have a ubw reference
Now that everything has aired, he's my final list of shows
5*
Clevatess
Takopii no Genzai
4*
City the Animation
Dainanaoji S2
Dandadan
Dr. Stone S4
Hikaru ga Shinda Natsu
Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku
Mizuzokusei no Mahoutsukai
New Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt S2
Ruri no Houseki
Silent Witch - Chinmoku no Majo no Kakushigoto
Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru S2
Watashi ga Koibito ni Nareru Wake Nai jan, Muri Muri!I think Water Mage has a lot of potential, but since it's a LN adap I sadly expect it will play things too safe
Dr.Stone may as well be labeled S8 at this point, because of how they do split cours, with each being its own self-contained arc
As much as I like it, I can't tell how much of that is sunk cost at this point
and Dainanaoji continues to be the best show that I think will filter 90% of people
Clevatess has been great so far
I have been hankering for some actual fantasy non isekai (or native 🤮 isekai)
Frieren was good for that, but not quite the vibe I was hoping for, this is moreso it
I will confirm, Clevatess is 100% fantasy
not a native isekai or isekai adjacent
You know my hankering for fantasy shows was bad when I watched old shit lol
Lodoss war was okay, still need to someday (tm) finish the 1998 version that I only got 11/28 episodes into
oh lol, you weren't kidding
you went super old school
I assumed you meant you watched Claymore or something from the 2000s
Lodoss is straight 90s
No lol, I saw Lodoss getting shilled by some guy on twitter
it was alright, ending was kind of rushed though
also they aired episode 5 as episode 1 for no reason
Syren, I do await the arc where Pika decides to actually watch old stuff
I have so much stuff post 2005 that I want to watch so keep waiting
why '05
No reason, I picked an arbitrary year post 2000
I know I have some stuff from like 2008ish probably on my wheel of anime
Its mostly going to be shows between 2008 and 2014 (the period that is almost modern but before I was watching anime)
Anyways if there is an old show that does not have the trappings of most old shows (mainly godawful pacing), I'd consider watching it
also not 100+ episodes long
the actual volume of "old" shows worth watching isn't that high
Yeah, thats also what I figured
because there was just less of it
Looking through old mal seasons and seeing which shows were forgotten to time or not is funny
Not the biggest fan of the older artstyle, I think some older artstyles can look nice, but some looks meh to me
there are probably <10 shows that I'd even recommend from the 80s (excluding movies and OVAs)
And its all of gundum just to force me to watch all of gundum
KappaRosss
Syren you are the main older show guy I know, but I guess your older shows are 90s shows
When I see an older show I've heard of I just assume Syren has seen it
1997-2007 imo is where a lot of classic shows came from
before the big upsurge in modern anime
I am not saying good shows did not come out beyond those years, but that is the peak of anime
or however the copypasta goes
I think 2008ish era has some charm when you were getting stuff like index, shana, etc
uh, original fate
those are the only things I can think of
but I know there is some good shows from that era
I think I said this in vc at some point
but Shana to me was the bridge between the old era and the new
for a bunch of reasons
S1 in 2005 ---> S3 in 2011
culturally, technically, socially, etc

I didn't realize the dude in the game center show was in college. This show is even funnier since its about a middleschooler college dude romance
In Japan that could techncially be <3 years apart
even though in this case, it's clearly 5+
Yeah
Replying to Kribbles #kribbles1 Hikaru ga Shinda Natsu is so stressful, fuck.
It does a good job not blueballing for the whole episode
I assume it's 24 episodes, no way the could fully adapt it in 12
Its jaring because half of it is just in English
