Dialga anime
ok here's my review-ish thing for BA anime. spoiler tagging based on pika's current MAL progress lol --BA Anime Overall review and notes-- As someone who really loves the BA story, i decided to rate this show based on how it did as an adaptation. For this reason i gave it an 8/10 on MAL, but if i was a stranger to BA and rated the show on its own, it would have been a lower score. What I wrote here are some critiques and praises based on that premise. Important introductory prologue scenes skipped(rip wakamo's and rin's intro). It's weird that the abydos girls had to explain basic information about the city to sensei, instead of Rin from the GSC doing it when sensei first starts working under the GSC. Fight scenes not really animated well other than a couple exceptions. nobody ever actually hit the main girls with any shots. Kivotos students are very durable, they regularly get shot in the game and shrug it off. why did the show avoid having them get hit at all? only iori from the prefect team landed hits but only in melee and her strikes were somewhat blocked. Sensei being in the anime is good, but with the fights being the way they are, and with the lack of game mechanics, his participation is sidelined. Volume 1 chapters 1 and 2 are not the most interesting part of BA story by a long shot, the anime was never going to fix that, but there's a lot of good about it like expanded scenes and the original episode 8 scenes which were quite nice and enjoyable to see. my biggest issues are the battle animation, the prologue skip, and The OST. Which had a couple nice tracks but overall falls short of the game

--individual episode notes-- 1-7: pretty simple mostly accurate adaptation of game story (vol 1 chapter 1, beginning of chapter 2). i'm not going to rewatch them to refresh myself for this write-up, but i remember most of it, and how i felt watching them. They were mediocre, but so was Volume 1 chapter 1 of the game story. some expanded scenes and a couple unimportant scenes left out(an extra skirmish with the helmet gang for example). strange but unimportant changes like the method serika was kidnapped with(smoke and knockout gas instead of shooting her with anti-aircraft guns). probably because they didnt want to show the main girls getting shot for some reason. The bank robbery was and still is the best part of chapter 1. Fight with iori and the prefect team was decently animated for iori's initial attacks, and pretty close to how it went in the game. Hina's thighs buffed.

  • ep8: aquarium scenes were anime original and good, wished the aquarium scenes were in the game story unironically. Good character moments that lead well into the next episode. Yuuka's thighs got nerfed, and Noa was shown earlier here than she was in game. The scenes after the aquarium were in the game
  • ep9: anime had no skrimish with Kaiser PMC before interest was increased unlike the game. Kaiser PMC director claimed to be Kaiser CEO when he isn't, which may have been a subtitling issue, idk because i don't understand japanese. addition of flashbacks of Yume. (see extra notes)
  • ep10: the pmc director piloted the mech unlike the game, and it was very stupid(why is he punching with cannons?). Problem solver entrance was good. Mutsuki had a weird web grenade she doesnt have in the game, but it fits her character to have something silly like that. other than that, some useless dialogue that didnt exist before, that kind of drags out the PMC invasion.

  • ep11: Black suit got a good VA. Sensei did not pull out the meta credit card in the anime during the black suit scene. Sensei and the abydos girls personally visiting trinity to ask hifumi for help is a nice addition. in the game, hifumi just asks the tea party for a favor without being prompted(at least not on screen). we also catch glimpses of Koharu, Azusa, and Hanako which is a nice addition though i doubt we'll get an adaptation of Volume 3 anytime soon, if ever. Nagisa tells hifumi she needs time to think about helping abydos, but in the game she immediately gives hifumi access to the Tea Parties artillery, hoping to get sensei to be in her debt. The abydos girls meeting with Ako and chinatsu of the prefect team when asking for help is a nice addition, only sensei showed up to gehenna to ask for help in game. I can't believe Sensei stuck iori's toes in his mouth, the madman.
  • ep12: Actually good battle animation in this episode, which is nice. this is the most important fight of volume 1 ch1&2 after all. We get to see a lot of the reinforcments from Trinity and Gehenna actually doing stuff on-screen instead of off-screen like in the game, where they showed up and their part in the battle wasnt really shown. Hoshino's flashbacks include stills of her first meeting with shiroko, which is not something you see until volume F(technically 5th volume in terms of release date, but not actually volume 5 which is its own story after volume F) in the game. The building hoshino was being held in didn't explode in the game.

---- extra notes: Episodes 9 and 12 had scenes referencing Hoshino's senpai, the previous abydos Student council president, Yume. iirc there was only a brief mention of yume in the game story for Volume 1 Ch1&2, so these scenes are either original or pull from Volume 1 Chapter 3 story, which only the JP servers have atm as of now. They arent spoilers though, and they're good additional scenes. I've seen reviews and comments mention lack of info on the girls halo's as a negative, but tbh the game doesnt give any information on them either. its meant to be a mystery, the most we know is halo's are what give the girls their durability. they also vanish while the girl is unconscious(sleeping or knocked out, but its effects dont go away). Halo's can be broken, if the girl dies, which takes an extremely excessive amount of force, so much so that there's only 1 confirmed student death in the story. and that happens before sensei shows up, so there is not a lot of info on that.
polu anime
I finished Blue Archive, it's a high 6/10 for me. I wouldn't recommend the anime to anyone but I didn't hate it. The later set of episodes were more enjoyable then the first set of episodes.
Dialga anime
i said in more detail in the "review" but they added stuff that was good to the later episodes that i really appreciated, but would not be recognized as something new and good if you didn't play the game story.

I never explicitly dropped that show, just fell behind and never caught up
It was bad, in a "it had an okay premise, did nothing with it, threw away the good part of the show (the character interactions), then rushed what probably should have been a 2 cour plot into 12 episodes" way
legorhin anime
suicide squad is nice because instead of being written by 14 year olds its written by competent people and doesn't lean on only tropes

Isekai Shikkaku

An adventure in another world with cute girls by your side and video game-like powers—sounds like an anime fan's dream, right? Not so for melancholic author Osamu Dazai, who would quite literally prefer to drop dead. Video games haven't even been invented yet when he gets yanked into another world in 1948. Really, all the fantastical adventure h...
