so people stop fucking themselves by buying new phones
They moved to what every other site that uses 2FA does, and allow phone based restoration for lost/broken authenticators
Also (my moment to shill) Google's Authenticator for whatever reason, doesn't have a good backup function
Use Authy, I promise it's secure
And even if it's not as pretty as Google's it works better
Also, the only reason it was a problem in the first place for Discord, for as long as it was
Is because they don't have enough engineers to implement the same basic solution every other site under the sun already uses.
