Actually though, DvZ if changed very slightly, and made kinda differently, could really be a popular, and great game. Use cosmetics and maybe cosmetic lootboxes, perhaps like Rob did and "Titles" too. Maybe simple P2W stuff as well. Do it like Town of Salem though and make it so everyone can get in game "gold" and this gold can also be bought. It can be used on SMALL P2W things like starting near a place, or higher monster chance or something stupid like that. There's two walls I see with it though. The first is netcode since that's hard, requires servers too which is iffy unless its P2P which is bad for such a game. The second is the building. Mining is easy enough to make, but the building is something else I could see as a wall. Other than that though, the next biggest thing is balance and gameplay setup. Movement isn't tthat hard, textures can be shit who cares, Music can be stolen from rob. Hit detection isn't that hard if you have the time to test it.

Also @Dolfin why does the DvZ community dislike loadouts? like can you give me the general consensus reasons?

I agree with rob that monster should not be as strong as a dwarf, depending on the monster though. I feel like thinking about could one dwarf, lore wise fight this creature and win, is a good way to balance their strength, as well as reducing the amount of procs.

I think you have to decide a couple big questions about the game: How powerful should a dwarf feel? a player monster? an AI? How much skill should it take to play? How much building should there be? How long should an average game last and the standard deviation on that? How many players per round? How much content do you pump into the game? Number of weapons, items, mobs, heroes, etc

One dwarf should be able to take down a zombie. One is alive, one is a warrior, one is dead. One dwarf should not be able to take down a golem.

I think to lower the skill req, one button, like Q or R or something, should be to take a swig, which might lower your weapon for a second, and you take a quiick swig, then get HP. That would lower skill, but also make you still be careful
