someone is re-writing the chat functionality, so we'll see what he comes up with
i guess if you're on phone its a bit of a hassle
also agree
ik Fire
I just think it would be funny to tie it to Discord
yeah, one of the forks got this working
the core functionality, is an NginX-RTMP module from like 2016
which someone forked to create a embedable video stream
which a lot of people forked to create various template sites
one of which a competent dev formed to build a good framework for a database
which I forked to create this
it's my own fork
I send a few commits back up for real things I've added
but then a lot of it's just stuff I've changed myself
I don't like commits in general
other than when someone wants to borrow easily sharable code
I don't like open sourced, outsourcing
where "we all contribute"
fuck that shit
I'll add on and change what you make, but don't expect a hundred people to work for you
There are some projects
where i swear the dev will get jealous of forks which don't share
and shut his own shit down
rip smile fire
There was a really good github project, for a .flac streaming server / internet radio type thing
which had a dev through a hissy fit, over people making their own verions of the project
since 99% of github GUIs suck
github is terrible for that, despite that supposidly being their purpose
The github network view
is cancer
and worthless
I'm using a 2018 version of Grocy I like, because it's become some amalgamation of random ideas the dev had
I think the culture of mantaining a fork is dumb
I don't
I just am saying, I think forks are dumb
rename forks to sporks
if I was in the shoes of some of these devs
I would delete my shit too
have you ever looked the issue trackers for Github
it's all ESL fags who try to speak english
kids asking why something doesn't work
and lazy idiots suggesting features to add
making a couple hundred bucks off some simple code, isn't worth even 1 hour of putting up with that shit
annd if you don't look at it, might as well not even publish it in the first place
