I think all the "Mary Sue" discussion is a distraction at this point
bad characters are only a small part of what's been wrong with the new movies
The state the universe is in at no point makes any sense
bad characters exacerbate this, because it makes everything just seem retarded
And it's not helped by the plot being stupid/braindead a lot of the time
The question is, do they even have other stories to tell at this point
Are we just going to get origin stories and side-plots to the existing movies
until the end of time
