I think all the "Mary Sue" discussion is a distraction at this point bad characters are only a small part of what's been wrong with the new movies

The state the universe is in at no point makes any sense bad characters exacerbate this, because it makes everything just seem retarded

And it's not helped by the plot being stupid/braindead a lot of the time

that deathstar at the end doesnt look like it was blown up

just never finished

The cinematic universe is just extremely restrained

I just dont see how Star Wars could go from telling stories like those in the clone wars to "women leader make her strong"
