Family of 11, one kid could swim
And one just happened to be fat enough to float
arn't lifejackets a thing?
for you know when you can't swim
You ever ride home on the duckboats?
not so sure what a duckboat is
if I couldn't fucking swim
I would wear a god damn life jacket
Bopit, have you ever been to a big city?
And seen those duck school bus things driving around

no I have never seen one of those ever
They're everywhere in NYC
the issue was a random storm that pushed them into deep water
Have you ever noticed those red double-decker busses?
yeah I have b/c those are actyally a thing
wear a god damn life jacket especially if you don't know how to swim
That's like telling people to wear a life jacket on a boat
Bopit, I used to work at a marina, and rent boats to people
#1 question was "do I actually have to wear this"
Why do people not want to wear the stuff that could potentially save them
Wouldn't want to be embarassed
Jackets are bulky, and for people using their boat, nobody wants to wear one
Parents put them on kids usually
that I care about my saftey
But everyone would know you fear death, bopit
You all act like life jackets do shit for people
I feel like its the same way with seatbelts then
99% of people renting boats knew how to swim
Though I have some stories of those who couldn't
ok so was this like some small lake?
but there's no harm in extra safety
b/c I feel like if you are on the ocean you probably want a lifejacket more than a lake
b/c you can swim out of a lake
Bopit, you can't swim across most lakes
Everyone thinks they can, but then they need to be rescued
if you had the adrenaline of holy fuck I'm going to die I bet you could
Oh, and I worked on a big lake
going off adrenaline is the best way to drown
Just like with walking, people tend to underestimate distances
I guess you run out of energy quicker when on adrenaline
So they think if they can see it, they can swim it
And people think "I'll swim accross, rest, then swim back"
And get maybe 1/3 of the way accross before needing help
get your body cold by resting
have those muscles tighten up
