This is always what I think of, back when the US banned certain strengths of encryption in the 90s

But see, I'm legitimately able to understand the math behind RSA
So if I wanted to, I could; using a piece of paper, write out a hash/salt table
And create "illegal encryption"
it's not, but that's what they banned in the 90s
An artist is able to; using a piece of paper, draw a loli
creating "illegal art"
It's not real though. it's a work of fiction gent
I can't get over the idea that I can create something, using my mind, and by putting that to paper have it be illegal
only someone stupid or easily impressionable would be encouraged to go after real children, just because of a piece of fiction
or the mentally ill
It's 100% freedom of speech/expression though
gent there are books and movies and pieces of art that depict criminal acts and yet those are allowed to exist
Congratulations Dialga!
Your "Alto" is now level 50!

Your "Oncology Nurse" is now level 49!

either way gent, I'm all for freedom of speech and expression, so games/art/movies/etc, as pieces of fiction and expression, I believe they should be allowed no matter the subject of it. it's the consumers choice to view it, and it's the consumers fault if they're retarded enough to try doing something from fiction, in real life.
Again gent, fiction and reality are different. I wouldn't defend a real life pedophile.
I don't think so
There are plenty of pedo's who aren't the way they are just because of a piece of fiction
It has an effect on the mentally ill or those who were already susceptible to developing that behavior yes.
but you can't say it's the root cause
I would also go as far to say that content like this pacifies real pedophiles, by giving them an outlet.
not all of them of course.
Know I'm kind of late to this, but the one study out there does actually support Gent
If you're basing law off of the societal good it may do, banning loli and similar things actually does decrease the rate of active pedophelia
I still think there's a disconnect fundamentally though, as I've said before
though Gent, animated child porn (loli) was a far smaller contributor than child sex dolls in the one study that's out there
(I still support both being legal though)
Banning it would only increase demand anyway and wouldn't solve the problem
If you identify someone with real, tangible pedophelic tendencies/desires
I feel like it's down to personal opinion whether you think "coping mechanisms" will be more likely to reduce or increase their likelihood to rape real children
Lots of non-pedos like this shit mind you
but actual pedos do as well
even then, the individual is different and a coping mechanism would have a different effect for everyone
And if we base a law around the societal good it may do, instead of abstract notions of one's rights, we'll reach different conclusions
