Marnie and Hop are the hard opponents, the gym leaders and the pink idiot are not that hard
Hop being difficult just makes me hate him more

so i get defense debuffs that I can't remove
and then his starter 1-shots me
this has been multiple fights with him in a row

it becomes an 100 power move in two turns + your attack buffs stack

max it will probably take you longer to grind for the centipede than just completing the gym trio and getting the guaranteed encounter
