fire remember that you can refight people in games and more
don't fall off a second time
i know but it's so dumb
i'm getting punished for being new at the game feelsbadman
bad stages will punish you even if you aren't new
but fair

enhanced
port
not a port
its 100% a nintendo enhanced pport
not a port
It's okay dialga, I know you're a bit salty, but no need to take it out on me :(
can i take it out on you max?
if you ask first
is this consent?
alright
unzips pants
h-hey
you disgust me
Having played ultimate
it is not a port
and any claim to the counter is wrong and retarded
basically all the characters have a different feel to them
its a
enhanced port
we've been over this
I disagreed then
and disagree more now
Just because a few values were tweaked and there's 15 new characters, maybe 20-30 """new maps"""", does not mean its a new game
A lot of the game has been ported over
And nintendo makes these a ot
yeah, that typically happens with sequels
Ultimate is an enhanced port
you take parts that work and change what does not
Most sequels have the main meat as something entirely new, or changed
smash, is not that different
that is just not true of any series that releases games semi regularly
Pika, I don't know what sequels you play, but if the entire game is the same assets, and everything ported over with a new mode
than you're getting ripped off
most games do not completely innovate between games.
You're right
but there's a large difference in the big meat, there's much more new content, new creations, a new game
They created 16 new characters, a few new maps, added a story mode.
Some stickers too
Tweaking major game mechanics in a fighting game is a substantial change
Is mario kart 8 deluxe a new game
No, and they did not change any of the mechanics in MK8D
that is actually a port
I agree with that
Mario kart 8 deluxe added a new mode though, new characters, new maps, changed some of the physics, made it prettier
wow, sounds like something else huh
Every character I played in smash ultimate felt different than smash 4
They did change mechanics in deluxe pika
how much
they added double items is all I know
Apparently they changed how drifting worked a bit, I've heard it handles a bit differently too, and fire hopping was removed
see, the problem with this argument is the thin line between sequels ports and 'enhanced ports'
Nintendo makes TONS of these
Ultimate falls under the same roof
Yes, I agree they do, and I disagree that ultimate is fundamentally the same game as smash 4
MK8D is fundamentally the same game as MK8 as far as I am aware
This entire thing comes down to the scale for which either of us require for something to be considered not the exact same as a previous game
I think ultimate hits that, you do not.
MK8D: New characters, new mode, mechanic changes, new assets, reused assets, SAME GAME, ported code
Smash Ultimate: New characters, new mode, mechanic changes, new assets, reused assets, SAME GAME, ported code
Wow!
doesnt that make 4 a port of brawl though?
The big part of it for me, is the fact its reusing most of the same game from 4
I don't know enough about the brawl and 4 thing
by that standard, ultimate is just a super enhanced port of smash 64
Not at all
its not reusing the code, assets
or anything
Its not that its reusing characters
its that its REUSING CODE
and ASSETS
its the fact that they control c control Ved the game
