I hate employer provided health insurance, I hate mandatory insurance
I hate the fact nobody pays for service they recieve, when they recieve it
isn't mandatory revoked now?
Obamacare is
but plenty of employers make you pay, regardless of the plan you choose
and people feel they have to pay for insurrance
before they incur costs
This is awful
If you visit your doc twice a year, you should pay for two appointments
instead of paying monthly insurance premiums, a co-pay upon each visit, and have the doctor have to go through a retarded process to get paid themselves
the fact that insurance doesn't cover everything defeats the purpose of the insurance
it should only affect emergencies
The problem I have, and why I don't want to pay for insurance
is if I get into a real accident, I figure I'll be dead
I have trouble imagining situations where I'll come out ahead, paying into insurance
I'd rather take home the extra money, and stick it in my bank account
There's stuff that could probably be done to reduce prices too, but I won't pretend like that's an easy fix
I don't want price setting
but there's got to be some way to reduce the insanity
price setting forces scarcity
Do not necessarily force price setting but at least maybe put a cap on it such that if thing is X do not charge 10X
sounds like price fixing
well your pricing is fucked
I really don't want price ceilings
That should be a last resort
But I can't pretend I have some surefire way to fix it, off hand
government funding for drug research so they don't have to cover the cost in the price of the product
drug research is retarded
the fact that we're only now having bioengineers actually now what they're doing
instead of mixing random shit, and relying on clinical trials
I think the US just needs to start over at this point
destroy all laws, rebuild from the ground up Kappa
a huge placebo effect research focus and remove all drug costs
College prices are easy, medicine not so much
just do what canada does
college for canadians is like 5% of what it is for internationals, and it can only go up 1% a year or something
no cap on how much internationals can go up
the chinese subsidize my schooling
Maybe the angle is to add a ceiling on the amount you can reap from a drug patent
so really successful drugs max out
pika you fix college by not giving out loans anymore
and become "public domain" quicker
idk leg
works for us
yours is just super fucked
The problem with our system Pika, is we guarentee every kid a "free" $30k loan
federal government interference in education is blatantly unconstitutional
so every school increased prices by 30k
yeah see, that is the problem
I have 9k in loans right now
that I need to repay after 4 years of school
The way to fix it is easy, I've said before
you disallow public loans for fiscally irresponsible institutions
needing a 30k loan is insane to me
privite schools can do whatever the fuck they want
but schools with a huge admin overhead, are denied the free goverment money
also I assume these loans are through banks for you guys, or do your governments handle the loans?
start denying loans to students who aren't applying to useful degrees
make a national focus on science
fuck that
I don't want retards in my programs
no Pika
through the goverment
oh okay
Obama banned private loans for school
also just make the loan performance based
FAFSA
is performance based but it doesn't matter
if loans went away, colleges prices would plummet, but they'd be out of reach for some
so you need to mantain some level of available funding
but you need to ensure it can't be spent at institutions who are price gouging
aka, unis with 40% admin costs and stupid unchecked spending
if you can't afford college then go to trade school or get an apprenticeship
fuck that Leg
then trade schools get flooded and they start upping costs
College shouldn't be a multi-generation endevour
become an electrician then go get an electrical engineering degree
I am a proponent of not going out and doing something just to make money so I cannot agree
if you want to go to some university and study pure math you should be able to if you have the aptitude to do so
and the money to pay for it
