as did other people
@Dansgaming SGDQ mods are the worst thing about that event. Every event, some ridiculous drama caused by a mod power trip.
Might actually be about the dansgaming thing
but that was 2 days ago
kind of annoying not being able to see the "tweets & replies" tab
Blaming people who did not vote for trump winning
probably wouldn't have helped
Probably not
there were most likely at least 4 million illegals who voted in just california
There was like, 1 state that took forever due to how close it was iirc
that was michigan
because all the democrat won districts had too many votes cast
if liberals want to win the popular vote and the electoral collage, maybe not pack themselves so tightly into cities
its part of their problem
Thats the problem though, liberals do not want to not live in the cities
i should say big cities
they are fine with all piling into sanfransico and california
yeah and they then have less districts
so that those states will forever be blue
isn't that basically just a flaw in the voting system though
atm yeah
if people's votes literally don't matter, what's the point
there's going to be a flaw no matter what you change it to
the point of the system is to make the people who don't live in cities' voices matter
otherwise the cities would decide everything
That is the problem
the majority vote is the problem?
i feel the system could be improved but i dought it will happen
and it easly could be made worse
I can explain it in Canadian terms which makes it easier to see
if Canada was a majority of vote contry
90% of our population lives within 10km or so of the US border
so all of nothern Canada would be fucked
every time
canada loves us Kappa
majority vote means the candidates would only need to campaign in the biggest states and only need to pander to the largest population areas, the electoral system makes smaller states matter and get attention
Not to mention then the influence on population centers will affect the country
but you guys are assuming that everyone in the cities then vote for one thing
so for example, New york has wall street
Sanfran is tech
thats because they do fire
these industries would dominate
and screw over everyone else
the cities are vote farms
They do though
that is the thing
I think it is more likely for texas to go democrat than sanfransisco to go republican
full stop
not much more likely
texas gerrymanders, thats why they are so dominantly republican
though they went red in the election
Even if most of the population lives in like, 5-6 major US cities, you have to try to make a system that does not fuck over everyone outside of those cities
I assume that is the case
anyways
yes thats the point
thats also why the senate is 2 per state and the house is population based
The major thing I like about the Canadian system over the US one is that we do not directly vote for our leader
fuck democracy
we dont either
we vote for representatives, and the party with the most representatives is incharge
delegates choose
the orgy for the whitehouse Keepo
you vote for the leader and the delegates are suppose to choose
I am aware that technically they could choose differently
they do choose differently
and quite a few did this time
That seems worse than just voting for the leader tbh
should never have allowed average joes to be politically involved
fuck this shit
like 9 went away from clinton
fire the problem with that though
is political activists and ideologues are the main people who are interested in politics
we never should of allowed fire out of belgium
there used to be requirements for voting priviledges, but the civil rights ammendments got rid of them because they were being abused
I am honestly sick to death of poltics, I wish the systems in place were not trash so I could go back to not having to watch it
For example, while I have no fucking interest in taking part in politics, I may actually have to go vote to try and stop the ontario liberals from winning
