It's got to be pretty embarrassing, when 3 of the top 5 LNs for the year were companion novels

If you're looking for a deeply satisfying experience mixed with the kind of writing that will leave you pondering about philosophical themes long after you've turned the game off, I highly recommend Fate : Grand Order by Type Moon. It is the most popular game in japan, the country that invented video games and have the most sophisticated taste in gaming. What sets this game apart from the rest is that it was written by Kinoko Nasu who is pretty much the japanese James Joyce, except instead of walking around and talking about boring stuff his characters reenact your favorite Love Hina and Card Captor Sakura hentai doujins, so it's pretty much better in every way. Their giant breasts, while intimidating to the prudish and close-minded western sensibilities, still entrenched in the fear of sexuality that christianity taught us, are actually an ancient symbol of wealth and power, representing their immense strength and magic better than any other visual cue. That's because Nasu is passionate about ancient mythology and every culture in the world, and he is very adept at condensing that knowledge into universally understood designs that really strike at the core of humanity's imagination. Don't be intimidated if you don't understand the story of the visuals right away, though. It took me several readings and extensive knowledge of Nasu's biography before I felt confident enough to say that I understood the deepest plot points of F:GO, like the real motivations for Elizabeth Bathory wanting to become an idol. That's why the Fate franchise tends to attract intellectuals, it's not easy to get into, but you're rewarded in spades for that investment.
