I had a dream last night that Nintendo released a new console while I was at EB Games with no foreshadowing. They called it the "Nintendo Wii". Somehow Nintendo thought it was a good idea to name their new console after an existing console, since the Wii sold so well all those years ago.

It was a marketing decision that rivaled Microsoft naming their console the "xBox One" in terms of boneheadedness. Also in my dream they had Kirbopher do a celebrity endorsement. And there was no new Zelda or Smash Bros game. The boxes for the new Wii games were a different colour to the old Wii games, but were the same colour for the Wii U games.

Ever since Sony announced the shift to no more physical games in 2028, EB Games have started to diversify their product lineup to include board games. They've always done pokemon cards. And they've been selling those giant-headed dolls that seem to infest all second hand games stores, but seeing them sell boardgames is just a funny adaptation of the times.

I've always found The King's Avatar fans the most pretentious dunkers of Sword Art Online. Ye Xiu is just an older version of Kirito. They're all like "Unlike Kirito, Ye Xiu uses EXPERIENCE and GAME KNOWLEDGE to win". Never mind that even in Ye Xiu's backstory he was a cracked player even when the game of Glory was new. Or the fact that since Kirito played the beta for SAO that gives him 1 month more experience playing the game than 90% of players. Even Ye Xiu's girlfriend (Su Mucheng) looks like an aged up Asuna.

Professor Oliveira is probably the most under-hated character in all of LOGH. Everything that went wrong in Yang's life can be traced to him and his ideas, but he gets away with it since he is just an ideas man. Like Steve from the Castle. Some directing choices in Re:Zero just make no sense unless it's cause they adapt from a novel. S4E12Subaru only can be audibly heard crying when his face is on screen. And by all rights should have started crying 5 seconds earlier than he did Ah screw it. I'll just say "SUBARU CRIES LIKE A LIGHT NOVEL CHARACTER".

Had an assumption day miracle happen today. I was in a line for the church's dinner when a kindly old lady not only insisted I take her spot in the line, but also the spot of 4 or 5 people infront of her. And somehow the people infront of her were all cool with it, although they were just as confused as I was. Like, I didn't know old ladies could do that. Just give other people different people's spots in lines.

It's like she ASSUMED everyone would be fine with me taking their spot.

Also me earlier in that line: "You know, I used to be at the front of this line". "What, did you just let others cut infront of you?" "Actually I'm hear for seconds". I left the mass as the closing music was playing and got to be the first served.

One time (more than 10 years ago) as I was walking up the street, barefoot, to buy some jam a guy stopped his car by me and asked if I had a spare phone I could give him. I said yes. I guess he took pity on me since I was shoeless that day and gave me both. Then he gave me meth from a bong. But since I already took dex-amphetameme, all that did was get me to normal and make my mouth feel smoother.

Also the fantranslations only got to chapter 70ish, and some of the fantranslations were machine translations. This so far goes to chapter 126 of the manga (so shortly before the finale of season 1 of the OVA.). It also adapts Gaiden.

From the LOGH books perhaps the biggest consequence of Trunicht surrendering the Alliance to Reinhard (which I have to spoilertag since apparently some people don't follow the bookclub) is that we never get to see long-haired Yang since following the Fortress vs Fortress arc, Yang stops cutting his hair to spite the government. But after the war ends, Frederica forces Yang to cut his hair. Since no one has said any random book trivia lately.

wee bit sad. I used to spend mental energy of how I'd do a parody of Galactic Heroes. Now most of it goes to figuring out how to shoehorn the name Lennod in every episode for music rights.

In the book it says Yang dodges the laser without thinking. Which means he has ultra instinct.

Didn't notice it was non-standard since for the first time I didn't pirate it and so wasn't constantly gazing at the timer. I mostly remember thinking in this episode: Subaru: nobody cares about your dreams that give you amnesia. Stop running out the episode's clock and wake up And I'm sure we'll get novel readers complaining about how the villain's monologue was cut from being 42 minutes long to 18 minutes long Not that I know that anything was cut, but it is standard fare for Re:Zero book readers to complain about cut monologues, even when the entire point of these monologues is just to establish the fact that these characters talk too much, which the average person can understand that 20-percent of the way through the monologue.

It happened with Echidna in season 2, and it happened with the white haired pretty boy who tried to marry everyone.
