Like with how the nobleborn characters are acting in Porc Hunters against their commoner spellblade captain, you could imply that the Barringsters were like, in charge of that area, and at some point lost a war against the Sunswords and are now their vassals, kind of like the Boltons to the Starks
Since at that point you could argue a lot of things were implied which would had been pretty cool but weren't
