I also played Hollow Knight hyper aggressively. The second I unlocked shadow dash, I just spammed that to stay behind the enemies and spam attacks. Makes it very fun.

I spent most of my time fighting bosses in the air haha, so no 3-strike combos for me

I read all the upgrades and then hard rushed water immediately

IMO using water form, I was able to play fairly aggro. I still had to parry obviously, but I was constantly moving. Again, until the final boss where water form is essentially worthless and I was forced to take it slow.

Were you ever using water form?

Althought Yi is essentially an immortal with no hope of saving his people in the Solarian ending. Kinda a despairing end.

It's not really bad ending/good ending, it's just different really

in the solarian ending

the apemen are still being used in the facility to harvest their brains and keep the solarians in stasis

I really liked the story though

just makes it take longer because you have to wait to parry to actually kill them

well not really tbh, it's just one new move

and it's very difficult...

There's an entire extra third phase

The final boss was the only time in the entire game I kinda just sat still and spammed parry at points because there's nothing else to do with the way she telelports around

water form is my favorite thing ever

I don't like to say it, but... skill issue. I was able to get through her phases very quickly once I learned the tricks. Very enjoyable. Spooky Phijkchu for Lady Ethereal, unless there was some mechanic I missed, it took upwards of 10 minutes to have a run going into her 3rd phase without getting lucky

The final boss took me like a sixth of my total playtime btw

It's the only thing in the game that's sellable that has a use

I accidentally sold the item because it was sellable haha

He was cool, very glad I messed up and wasn't able to nerf him because the challenge wasn't too bad. Spooky Phijkchu I liked the boss before her (edited)

The prison stealth section was easily the worst part of the game imo

One of my least favorite areas probably, but I liked the boss fight

and I disagree about it falling off, I enjoyed it quite a lot throughout, though I do think the best boss is Lady Ethereal and everything after isn't as good

I agree that it's much more linear than other games, but I honestly like that about it

Yeah I'm a phi male

It has a more traditional JRPG combat style compared to the other two games and the story is much more fleshed out compared to Wrath of the White Witch

The actual best Ni no Kuni is the DS version of the first game though

I'd prefer to not be forced to wait for my buildings to be built

I just recently played Ni no Kuni 2 for the first time. It's ok. I much prefer the first, despite its very glaring flaws with the combat system.
