so do you have two audio channels, for OBS to listen on?

Windows audio sucks, I feel you

you want to have firefox playing to a channel, that only OBS is listening for, and then have your normal desktop audio playing for you watching your own stream, which OBS doesn't record

I'll defer to Leg, he has more W10 knowledge than me, I just added a fuckton of channels to avoid this problem

if you have a spare channel, have firefox play through that, record that one in OBS, and just mute desktop audio

so I know W10 changed how audio devices work (or so I've heard)

audio seemed like it was working for a second

I thought for sure window capture did, I remember it doing that at least

I'm looking to see if any of the other OBS options let you split audio

now I think you just muted your audio again anyway, this is just Windows being terrible at audio channels your two options are to use a virtual channel or to use the "browser" feature in OBS

I'm not sure what OBS looks like by default now, but I have cool sliders at the bottom

are you doing window capture?

you can split that audio off from your desktop audio

in OBS, if you're capturing a window, rather than a region

preset/profile matter less

keyframes being 1 is the big thing

For software encoding, simple options work fine, but for some reason the Nvidia encoder has really weird default settings

also FYI, OBS is a little weird, it'll pretend it changes options somtimes while you're live, but will just be lying to you

this is what I use, I can go higher than 6k without issue

I promise you it's not a bandwidth thing on my end
