I've never liked audio books personally. I will absolutely forget anything someone tells me immediately.
I honestly treat them the same I would a youtube video, but if its something im relatively interested in I would rewind what I missed.

if you're going to listen to filler, you can find a podcast or youtube slop to put on
I usually do music, but yeah I've done podcasts too. Either way, I'm not going to really be paying attention or remembering any of it.

Tbf, I did it with like 40k shit when I was doing a lot of deliveries during covid. Which is something I dont really care to retain all that much

My first time I ever tried an audio book, I listened to 20000 leagues under the sea on a long plane flight and I legit couldn't tell you a single thing about it the next day.

Happened to me with Dune. I simply didnt care about it after the first book. I think I was maybe burnt of sci-fi at that point though. Thats when I started my chinese history era instead.

And just like hamfisted a lot of the stuff or simply didnt get the idea behind certain actions. Guess I cant say for certain though as I didnt delve too deeply into the series

Also superficially, I hate those books/show because of the amount of times I have seen people say "Physics can't solve the 3 body problem" when the answer to that is that is has, there just is not a closed form solution

Thoughts on audio books?
I prefer tts over audio books, and a vast majority of my reading is done this way. im ready small text on screens all day at work, so in my leisure i need to give my eyes a rest. audio books are often too slowly paced and pronunciation is inconsistent or hard to understand when sped up. tts on the other hand is extremely consistent

Ive done this a few times with some articles I just didnt care to read/wanted to do something simultaneously. Haven't really found a TTS site i like though.

Absolutely that. I was looking for a list of Pokemon with mustaches and found that entry on the wiki. Old man Willikers and Snorlax with a drawn on mustache caught my attention.

so as a brief crash course, old man wilikers, aka rob, aka rawb, aka pkmnrob was an old school internet person who had his hands in a lot of things. One example is he was a very early adopter of making nuzlock content on twitch/youtube. Phijkchu as a group started as a group of fans of this person. Nowadays, Rob kind of lost his mind, did a lot of coke, among other bad things, and none of us particularly like him, and for the most part we just pay attention to him because he is a train wreck of a person. This group itself is moreso just a social group of internet weirdo's who hang out and do stuff/talk about things we are interested in
