welcome to the server, what brings you here today?
i am rewatching unforgotten realms live and wanted to see if anyone plays the tabletop game still
@Space is/was the maintainer of the TTS mod, but idk if anyone in his tabletop group still plays
oh right, he's not in the server, oops lol
one of the mods will be around to vet you to the rest of the server, #rawb is our Rob chat and you might have luck asking in there
Loveland used to have a game going, but it's... been a while lol
I tried rewatching them on youtube but now they are private. so i am watching on the rawb art website
yeah, it's a shame Rob privated all his old stuff
that was during his mental breakdown arc, the reasoning was never really clear
though I still think in general his old stuff dredges up bad memories of a better time for him
I have not watched a lot of his new stuff, but I stopped watching midway through the Unforgotten Realms live series when it was coming out.
Most of us here were really active fans of S1 and most of S2, felt like that's when it started to trend in the wrong direction
I was in middle school when it was starting in Season 1 and could not support it so I watched it when it was posted to YouTube.

I stopped I think because I just could not keep up with it, it was like a new adventure every week.
the super abbreviated tldr of what happened after that is:
- Rob had a mental breakdown after S4E1, blew everything up and canceled URealms and burned a lot of his professional bridges
- He did his own thing for a while on-stream, but between hard drug use and the stress of being a streamer, he eventually had another mental breakdown and that time his family committed him to a mental hospital
- After that he's been all over the place, he's done some sorta revivals of old projects but mostly has been drifing away from the internet, every couple months he'll commit some big scandal that cuts his remaining fanbase in half and drives away more of his friends

dam I really missed some stuff, I stopped watching most of the DvZ Stuff cause I liked in the old DvZ withthe different roles like baker who makes cake and motar people.

I think Rob was extremely talented and funny, but between a mixture of being unlucky, doing drugs, and being surrounded by bad influences he kind of squandered his career on the internet
I still like the old stuff he made, but new Rob is a completely different person
yeah, a lot of us are super nostalgic for the era of DvZ where you got to make clocks, and there were 200-300 players in a match
The Bruces Gym 24/7 stuff was fine too, but it was getting played out by then
Always wanted to play his games but never owned Minecraft and didn't have a computer until like 2018 and by then I missed the boat.

I feel bad for kids in gen Alpha who grow up only having a phone
no computer besides maybe a shitty school-issued chromebook

The Chromebooks are a scam for school districts and they overpay for the number that they get, and most of them a year or two after get auctioned off by the hundreds, at least in my area.
