After thinking a minute, the first of Rawb's pokemon videos I saw was the 'subtle advertisement' when it first came out back in the day. I was a dvz fan before that and once I knew he had a pokemon channel I was hooked.

Just out of no where remembered I used to watch someone who did pokémon nuzlockes and a tabletop game I tried to get my friends to run on tabletop sim, searched for a bit and found phijkchu site

I remember like pkmnrob and urealms from like 7-8 years ago but wasn't sure what the etiquette around talking about him on this server like
I mean, we actively chronicle Rob. He is boring at the moment, was more interesting a year back when he was very mentally unwell

for anyone who remembers peak Rob from 2014-2018
the super tldr summary since then is:
drugs+mental illness+enabler "friends"+his own bad decisions ruined his life
he built up a sizable fanbase, on his humor and fun nature
and then just tore it down
My point is that during that "era" of 4 years, we had a higher precentage of good Rob videos being released, more overly great bangers compared to 2019-2024. NOTHING HERE IMPLIES that 2019-2024 is worse AT ALL, infact I have some genuine favorites from this time frame, however I'm looking at it like I look at anime, 2000s-2017 or so just had a higher precentage of good anime, it was a peak in time IMO, there's been some after that that are better sure, but there's MORE GOOD ONES, its a "golden age" per se
I cannot see peak, then a range of years and not think of that
