I dropped off when he started doing urealms live, his content seemed to just kind of drop in quality from there. I have no idea what the dude is like nowadays.

urealms live started good but then it collapsed around 2019

i'm one of the original phijkchu members but I haven't really been paying attention since 2019 so you will need to wait for @Phijkchu_Pikachu to explain it

I looked over a couple of his recent Livestream past 2020 and so much of it just seems incomprehensible or just spiteful. I always wondered why Roamin didn't run off and do his own side thing.

the basic summary (which I've probably said a lot when new people join) is that Rob has had some pretty significant mental breakdowns over the years

between that, drugs, and his psychiatric medications, a lot of the old qualities we all liked are gone

Hullo! I'm glad Roamin and Deadbones are doing alright, dude. I guess that's probably what makes everything a little bit better for me. Rob's content regarding nostalgia and his old stuff just makes him come off as extremely unstable. Especially for a guy that seemed to be pretty straight laced back then, he seems like he's completely fallen off. 😦

I think there's a lot of revisionist history about Rob, because of how much he scorned his old community (multiple times), Megan, his irl friends, and his coworkers

but tbh, I still think Rob was incredibly talented, comedy came easily to him and he was able to pour 100% of himself into projects he was one of the first people online to do let's plays, to try to build a "community" around his content, and a ton of other firsts

if anything, the tragedy is that time and time again, he was too early or made the wrong choice

and the things he did and saw modest success doing, would explode months/years after he stopped

I know that bothered him, and probably contributed to a deteriorating mental state

It's so hard because he did have such a loyal following. We would have entire roleplay D&D esque Minecraft servers set up based upon his content from the roleplay series back in the day. He inspired so many fucking things going forward. It's so hard to really comprehend how you could fumble your community like that.

The PML is another funny one

the idea of a "professional minecraft league" was silly and fun in 2012, but the amount of money there now is insane

Rob chose Blip.tv over YouTube, and then opted to stop streaming on Twitch right as it was exploding

Rob was a front page streamer on early Twitch, he'd get 2,000 people to watch him and was a top 20-30 channel every single week

and then he just stopped livestreaming
