I still like Rob's old stuff, regardless of whatever the hell he does now

the one piece of information that I think makes post-Urealms cancelation Rob understandable is this:
his family and friends were so alarmed by how he was acting last Summer, that they had him involuntarily committed to a mental hospital, who deemed it necessary to hold him for the maximum allowed amount of time under Canadian law
he's on meds now that have at least made him functional again, but the old Rob we all knew is gone

Yep. He is currently on meds but not taking them, so insane Rob might return
He stopped clipping the streams for YouTube/TikTok and his off-day streams are 50-50 on whether they even donate enough to trigger DvZ
sort of, he does 5 games a week max (weeks he streams)
3 guaranteed, +2 if he hits dono goals
and the idea was you'd have to donate to get into games, but with how small the audience is, you can pretty reliably get in anyway
imo, the initial highs from week 1-2 fell off faster than Rob thought
yeah, and his DvZ numbers were really strong at first
Rob has been very transparent on this
his current plan is to work back through all of his old projects, and extract the maximum amount of money out of his community he can in that time period
and on the side, he's trying to come up with a non-content job he can do once the money really dries up
I don't mean that cynically either, if it comes across that way
anyway, I suspect the plan was for DvZ to carry through the Summer, and he'd launch Lom2 holiday
now, lom2 has been moved up, and DvZ will probably be 2 times/month on average
the crazy part
is Rob has a 100% working modern DvZ
with the actual game features working from before
loadouts/ shrines / etc.
but he didn't want to use it.
so he has been cobbling together this rp DvZ thing
His whole premise, is he'd rather sell people a 1-2 hour session of "hanging out with OldManWillakers" on stream
which tbf, the modern streams aren't terrible or anything
they are a lot like the og chill minecraft streams he'd do
but it's not really a game, and idk if you've watched most of the weeks, but it's a lot of just pure nostalgia that he unearthed from his old mod folders and ported foward
FFS, he spawned in the same strip club from 10 years ago with DB and Roaman
he did a week where he sort of brought back crafting clocks
it's also more scripted/planned
he has 5-10 of his most dedicated fans helping in-game
who have mod, and Rob's given them a script to follow
and again, it's not terrible to watch, I get why some people might like it
because it is just Rob trying to forcibly recreate the great moments from 6+ years ago
whereas back then, it was organic because it was Rob+team trying to create something funny and entertaining
yeah
he kind of did midlife crisis DvZ already in 2021 as well which is funny
he got Pause to come out of retirement to record some DvZ with him
which lasted 5 weeks
this was him during his FULL mental breakdown arc
also can I just say, Rob recording in 19FPS
still pisses me off
