yeah, Rob nuked his YouTube channels a few months ago
Yeah so Rob had a mental breakdown over the course of the last couple years, he privated all his videos to try to get people to pay for a youtube subscription
all the pokemon VODs are on the site
also because he hates all his old fans
there's a.... LOT of Rob lore that's happened
I was never an avid viewer of him but I used to watch his pkmn vids and DvZ stuff all the time. I figured things had changed a while ago when I started seeing clips of him in sort of drag, but only thought to check out the pkmn channel after getting notifications from the rawb channel about new DvZ stuff
yep, that's most people, it's kind of sad how things have ended up
Rob was involuntarily committed to a mental institution last Summer
after a particularly bad breakdown
he hates his old content, dvz included, which is why his new stuff is nothing like what he's done before
he's been trying to find a way to monetize what he can from the small group of nostalgic fans who are sorta still around
Damn that sucks. He got anyone close trying to help him? If I remember the old minecraft gang sorta split or something, any of them still around to help?
No, he's burned literally every bridge in his life, irl friends, family, other YouTubers, etc
After he broke up with his long time girlfriend megan, he lost most of his friend group
he has a few fans, DaniDip, and a few people like Roamin and Pause who are doing their own thing and don't really care about internet stuff much
and an onlyfans model he does stream management for sometimes
he doesn't need "help" at this point, he's on meds and they've helped with his manic episodes
he's mentally fine
if he wants to try to repair the relationships in his life, he's welcome to start doing that
but he's been uninterested as far as we know
Why does he hate his old content? Humour changed or just all the memories?

His early videos represent a level of success and belovedness that he's never been able to recapture
as time went on, every new project felt like a step back for him
he resents his old videos, and that fans prefer those by-in-large
which is funny because he got divorced while doing X&Y, towards the end of the pokemon content era anyway
he's also been SUPER unlucky, he's started a lot of projects too early, that would later be popular
or chose the wrong path to go down
etc. etc.
so a lot of his old content also represents "what could have been"
he missed every big content boom, was too early for most of the big trends, chose the wrong websites to focus on, or built his community the wrong way only to have to 180

after he retires, we're going to make a huge documentary on his life/career

Replying to Spooky Phijkchu #spooky.131 as time went on, every new project felt like a step back for him
tbh, i think it goes one level deeper as well
since he used to talk about how people like pauseunpause, when they're playing video games on stream, they're not just having fun playing a video game, it's hard work
but i don't think he ever really believed that, i think he always thought what he was doing was more real hard work, and i think he was right in that
but he told that lie to himself and others because he wanted to fit into the mindcrack crowd and not look down on them
so he also envies people who have worked less hard than him and achieved more success, and he hates the fact that all that work didn't lead where he wanted to, even though it's also good entertainment etc
What kills me is how inefficiently he works. He's putting in a lot of time and effort, but usually only sees returns of 1/4 or 1/5.
The real Rob was the friends we made along the way
