Oh damn, missed a lot today
What did old new guy think of FE Engage?
hasn't played it, said he thought it looked bad
Max and I would strongly encourage him to try it
Dumb mc aesthetic aside, they made a really good FE game
he also thinks awakening is the worst FE game ever made
rather than the MC's look i didn't play it because the old characters gimmick makes it seem like a fake game
that and I don't have a switch with me

also yeah, the old character gimmick feels like it's just trying to pander
Listen, you went inactive, which meant you died
it is just how it works
this is true
I'd play Engage if I got it for free, as a gift or something, but not gonna spend money on it. I may play and enjoy it later though.
That's how I feel about Pokemon. I still like fire emblem though
absolutely feel the same about pokemon, I refuse to spend money on any of the newer games
I did not buy the new pokemon and will not buy pokemon games
I bought shield. couldn't bring myself to actually play it
completely fair
I'll buy get 5 remakes, and if they ever remaster/sell a collection pack for Colosseum but I think thats it
I hate gen 6+ so remakes stop being appealing after they do gen 5
I hate remakes more than anything as a concept. I'll play the original any day over any remake.
you need a very good reason to convince me to play a remake of a game
gen 1 and 2 remakes were just objectively better games
I'd argue
yeah those are a very good reason. Less so for ORAS and significantly less so for BDSP.
gen 3 was worse but I liked it, gen 4 was basically a 1 to 1 remake with worse graphics and more programming issues
There are games I'd buy just as an excuse to play them again, modern pokemon is not that
I've bought mario 64 on every console it has released on for instance
ahh interesting. I'd prefer playing on original hardware if I had it available
I am not a stickler as long as it controls the same. I tried the native pc port that was made for mario 64 and it felt too off
zelda pc port is pretty great though
which zelda has a PC port?
the new link's awakening?
oh oot does?
OoT pc port is really solid
build in rando too
that's neat, didn't know that, may have to try it out
I am a big proponent of it just being the best modern way to play the game
I don't have an N64, so playing N64 games is a pain. N64 emulation is not great.
I think pc port plays better than emulation at the very least
I wanted to play the original paper mario recently and I found the best way to do it was emulating the VC release using dolphin emulator
Thats another great game (And how I played it, I bought it on wii vc)
I had only played TTYD before
I have never played any of the others
other than sticker star for like 3 hours, hated it, and never continued
if you like the original paper mario though, I would highly highly suggest bug fables ;)
My game backlog is too long lol
currently working through the pikmin games since I had never played them before
it's kinda an inside joke with my friends that I hard shill bug fables anywhere I go
oooo neat
I've only played the original
I 100%ed the original, and am currently like half done 2
nice nice, how does it compare to the first?
I like some mechanics better (underground caves being the big cool feature, new pikmin types are neat). I feel like a lot of the difficulity is more bullshit than 1 though where I've just had enemies wipe my entire army without the ability to react
also the purple pikmin they introduce that do more damage trivialize killing things since they also stun enemies, so it just becomes chuck 20 of them onto something until it dies
interesting
Pika, is your pikmin meta really to just only use the fat pikmin?
No but I do use them a lot
