Ive been running Linux mint, debian edition for everything. I need to finish up my VPN so that I can set up a jellyfin server, my NAS to back up my shit, and my aurora camera

During school, I used a gentoo laptop because I wanted multiple nginx configs and I used a modified Audacity so I had to patch their C++ code while it compiled. But now that I don't need that fidelity, I just don't care and use default everything.

It seems like everyone around me gravitates to arch as their main. I haven't had the time to play around with it, but is it really significantly better than debian?

I love arch, i may switch to nix, have tired a few times, but i have scripts that automate my arch config so i can deploy easily

I did do Linux from Scratch, realized it was immediately unmaintainable and tried Source Mage before realizing wtf am I even doing and then went to Debian.

I really think people need to stop reccomending Ubuntu as a Linux OS for converts
I usually recommend mint debian because it strips out the worst of Ubuntu but makes it not intimidating for windows users

My buddy was in the middle of a dota game, his Pop_OS updated, crashed the game and he couldn't relaunch the game ever again, so he changed to Manjaro and has had no issue.

I liked RHEL, but I'm kind of glad I got pushed off due to the license shenanigans, since it's hugely fallen out of use in general

I genuinely think that was a fatal mistake for RHEL. The people who weren't paying for the commercial licenses were almost certainly the type of people primarily developing for RHEL

we prempted him though and launched Rawb.art just before he set that up (also almost no one became a channel member and he was missing most of the videos anyways because he was doing the reuploading manually)

so, what actually happened is there was a looming deadline of when YouTube was going to auto-private all unlisted videos, and most of Rob's videos were unlisted
