She's looking for a 2 bed to rent with her sister, but at the same time looking for someone to take just her(and Illidan) in. Now, I don't have a ton of experience with this personally, but do people often move to a new place of residence on a seemingly extremely limited budget so their sister can get a somewhat desired place to live?

I'm trying not to jump to conclusions, but it sounds like Megan would be paying absolutely nothing, in that case, and that the sister can afford $1900/mo, which may or may not be fine for a single in Toronto(I have no idea if it is), but nowhere near enough for a double.

It's not linear though, a 1 bedroom might be 1500/month, with a 2 bedroom at 1900 (anywhere but Toronto lmao) Probably some support from their parents as well, I'm expecting the idea was that they'd get a nice-ish apartment without knowing that they'd need to spend closer to 3k/month for one

I know that in Philadelphia(only reference I personally have for extremely urban housing cost), quick metro access is definitely more expensive in most cases

But there's also a big difference if you can roll out of bed and fall right into the station or if you have to walk an hour to get to it.

I guess it comes down to what you think "walkable" is. I have had to walk over an hour to catch a bus(when I had to go from the suburbs to the city, to the depot, to take a bus to a city an hour away) on a daily basis.

That having been said, I didn't even know how to drive, let alone have a car or anything, so I don't know how I'd respond to that today.
