I was thinking pretty much this. Manipulation generally infers an active attempt, but, for lack of a better term, passively "being a bad influence" can be just as powerful.

Oh, real quick, on slicing apples: Ignoring the unhealthy lifestyle of Rat Alice, if you want to eat apples with peanut butter on them, it's rather difficult to do without slicing.

Nah what I'm saying is these people are both taking time for themselves instead of doing their jobs, while one is like "aw gee I sure am sad I'm not supporting fellow creators" while the other is "yeah got lots of shit I wanna do today sorry"
