K-12, your parents can usually overrule a teacher if it comes to it
College, it's the Prof all the way, unless the college opts to get involved
In college depending on the prof you can probably discuss things to some degree since at that point, you are all adults

I'd say his meals look like the kind of thing a middle schooler would prepare
Middle-schooler where, and during which time period? In middle school, the most I did was stuff like ramen you just toss in boiling water on the stove or frozen pizza you put in the oven for like 15 minutes, but the younger of my sisters(9 years older than me) was cooking full meals when I was 5 years old, so she would've been 14-15
I think most kids cooking "real meals" end up making very basic dishes that involve taking raw ingredients and adding heat
and that's about the level of skill I've seen from Rob and/or Megan when they post pics of their food
though like Mini said, he's the expert
