It's the fact that there's extreme pressure to obstruct any doubt cast on vaccines. You see it everywhere, youtube and google make it their fucking banners, they force little "covid info" headers onto videos that mention the virus
I think the youtube policy started as a response to million conspiracy videos thanks to how the algorithm works. As I understand it, now if there's widespread misinformation on a topic they link to verified sources.

And it's been like this forever really, even in the past the link between autism and vaccines (or any other mental conditions) have been ridiculed or downright ignored when it's literally what happens with some of the chemicals in a vaccine

They lied about masks, they lied about whether covid spreads through the air only through water droplets, they denied the source of the virus for months on end

In the past, doctors would recommend smoking cigars as a health remedy. We scoff at those silly fools back then and how misinformed they were, how much have things really changed? Nutritional science has been downright incoherent over the past few decades alone

I don't think it's fair to discredit an entire field based on isolated incidents tho. Like, if you're gonna throw out everything based on isolated incidents and the sins of the past, what's left?

You'd be better off just trusting your instinct on what to eat than waiting with bated breath over whether they've decided eggs cause heart disease or not

I think there's a middle ground. Sure, staying on the cutting edge of a volatile field like nutrition can be pretty foolhardy and not worth the effort, but it seems just as extreme to throw the baby out with the bathwater and just trust nothing and nobody, especially when lives could be/are on the line

Plus, even nutrition has shown some benefit. People's instinct used to lead nobility to eat a shitton of meat and to eat without utensils
